Peg’s recipe
½ c. butter
½ c. flour
2-3 c. chicken broth
2 c. milk
8 oz. Velvetta cheese, cubed (this will give a creamy smooth consistency) or use 8 oz. grated cheddar cheese
1 can of beer
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
dash of hot sauce
1 T. chives, parsley, or basil
Melt butter, mix in flour alternately with a small amount of the chicken broth. Stir until blended. Blend in the rest of the chicken broth and milk. Heat until smooth and thick.
Add cheese and mix until all is thick and melted. Add beer, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Sprinkle chives on top.
