Wild Rice Mushroom Dish

Ingredients

3 T. butter           

8 oz. mushrooms, sliced

½ c. slivered almonds

1 t. chicken base (paste type is best)

4 to 6 dashes hot sauce (optional)

½ c. sliced green onions

3 c. chicken broth (2 cans)  

1 c. uncooked wild rice

Instructions

     Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease casserole dish. 

     Melt butter in skillet, add mushrooms and almonds.  Cook for 3 minutes, add wild rice.  Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.  Stir in onions, chicken base, and broth.  Bring to a boil, pour into casserole dish – cover. 

     Bake for 45 minutes.  Uncover and bake an additional 45- 60 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
