Grandchildren’s favorite recipe
¾ c. sugar
¾ c. corn syrup
1 t. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter (I use chunky and have it heaping)
5 ½ c. Special K cereal
1 c. chocolate chips
½ c. peanut butter chips
Spread the cereal in a greased 9×13” cake pan. In a saucepan cook the sugar and corn syrup over low heat. Stir, make sure the sugar is dissolved. When the mixture begins to boil take off the heat. Add the vanilla and peanut butter and stir. Pour mixture over the cereal in the pan.
Melt both chips in a saucepan or microwave. Spread on top of the bars.
