Raised Yeast Dough

Ingredients

2 c. milk, scalded

½ c. sugar       

½ c. oleo (margarine)      

1 pkg. yeast

6-6 ½ c. flour

2 eggs

1 t. salt

Instructions

   

  Scald milk; add ½ cup sugar and margarine.  Allow to cool – lukewarm.  Add yeast.  When mixture is bubbly, add 2 cups flour and eggs.  Mix well with electric mixer.  Add remaining flour, the last by hand. 

Place in a covered bowl and let rise until double in volume.  Punch down and place in refrigerator until ready to use. 

Dough can be made into Long Johns and deep fried, also tea rings, and rolls.  Shape dough and let rise.         

Bake at 350 degrees.
