Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

Scale

2 c. white sugar

1 c. corn syrup

1 c. water   

2 c. peanuts

1 T. butter

1 t. baking soda

Instructions

     Cook the sugars and water till firm ball stage 272- degrees.  Add peanuts. 

     Continue cooking and stir until it reaches 300- degrees on candy thermometer or hard crack stage.  Add butter and baking soda.  Stir quickly and pour at once, in a thin layer, on a large, greased cookie sheet. 

     When cool break into pieces.
