Chocolate Bars

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie layer

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate

½ c. butter              

2 eggs      

½ c. flour  

1 c. sugar            

½ c. pecans, chopped

 

Filling

4 T. butter

2 c. powdered sugar

2 T. heavy cream

½ t. vanilla

 

Glaze

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate

2 T. butter

Instructions

     Cookie layer:  Grease a 9×13” pan.  Melt butter and chocolate.  Beat eggs until frothy and stir into the chocolate mixture.  Add sugar, flour and nuts to the mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.  Cool thoroughly.

     Filling:  Beat softened butter, powdered sugar, cream and vanilla. Spread on cooled bars and chill another 10 minutes.

     Glaze:  Melt butter and chocolate and spread over filling.
