Ingredients

¾-1# ground beef or Italian sausage

1 small onion, diced

1 stalk celery, diced

¼ c. red/yellow or green pepper

16 oz. tomato sauce

14.5 oz. can petite tomatoes

2 c. beef broth

1 T. brown sugar

1 T. chili powder

½ t. cumin

1 t. oregano

1 t. basil

15 oz. can black beans

Instructions

     Brown meat, while browning, cook the onions, celery, and peppers, with the meat. 

     Add the tomato sauce, tomatoes, and broth to the cooked meat and vegetables.  Add spices. 

     Turn heat to low and cook for 20-30 minutes.  Add black beans, and simmer until beans are warmed.

     Serve with sour cream or grated cheese on top.
