Sticky Basil Chicken

Ingredients

Sauce

1/3 c. honey

¼ c. ketchup

2 T. apple cider vinegar

3-4 T. soy sauce

2 T. brown sugar

1 T. sugar

1 t. chili paste

Chicken

1 egg, lightly beaten

½ c. flour

1/3 c. corn starch

1.75 # boneless chicken breasts, cut into small pieces.

1 c. basil

sesame seeds

 

Instructions

Sauce

     In a bowl, add all the ingredients, and whisk to combine; set aside.

 

Chicken

     Add the egg to a small bowl, the flour to a separate bowl, and the corn starch to another.

     Add the chicken to the egg bowl, and smoosh it around.  Pick it up and transfer the chicken to the flour bowl and dust the pieces.  Then transfer to the corn starch bowl to coat.

     In a large skillet, add the oil, chicken, and cook over medium high heat for 8 minutes, or until the chicken is seared and cooked through.

     Reduce heat to medium, add the sauce to the skillet, and stir for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

     Turn the heat off, add the torn basil, and stir until it wilts.

     Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
