Thanksgiving Turkey

Ingredients

Turkey

poultry seasoning

1 apple          

1 orange

1 T. minced garlic 

sage

2 T. butter

Instructions

      Rub butter, garlic, and sage under the skin of the turkey.  Stuff the bird with the chopped apple and orange (this will help keep turkey moist and flavorful).  Optional: May also stuff with stuffing.  Shake additional dried sage and pepper over the outside of the turkey.

     Cover and bake at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes per pound. Use a meat thermometer, cook the turkey to165 degrees.

     After an hour, baste every 20 minutes.  Let rest 15-20 minutes before carving.
