Minnesota Jambalaya

Ingredients

2 T. oil                      

2 celery stalks, diced

1 onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 t. garlic                   

1 t. thyme                  

1 t. cloves            

salt and pepper to taste            

1 t. chili powder

1 T. hot sauce

3 Andouille sausage, sliced

1# shrimp

2 cans chicken broth

1 small can diced, chilies tomatoes

16 oz. tomato sauce

1 T. Worcestershire sauce

½ c. uncooked rice

½ c. wild rice

1 c. water

Instructions

Sauté the vegetables in a small amount of oil until tender.  Add the tomato sauces, and spices, cook for 5 minutes.  Stir in the broth, rice, water, and Worcestershire sauce.  Bring to a boil – reduce heat. 

Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until rice is cooked.

      Stir in browned sausage and cooked shrimp, heat and serve.
